PERFORMANCE AND EMISSION BY EFFECT OF FUEL ADDITIVES FOR CI ENGINE FUELLED WITH BLEND OF BIODIESEL AND DIESEL - A REVIEW STUDY

ABSTRACT
This article is a literature review of the effect of different fuel additives on performance and emission characteristics of CI Engine fuelled with blend of biodiesel and diesel. This study is based on the reports of researcher who published their findings. It was reported that the metal-based additives improved flash point, pour point and viscosity of the biodiesel fuel, depending on the rate of additives. Use of multi functional additives for diesel will lead better fuel conservation and emission control takes place. Engine performance values did not change significantly with biodiesel fuels, but exhaust emission profile was improved.The addition of cerium oxide nano particles, with the modified biodiesel at different dosing levels of the additive showed an improvement in the efficiency of the engine. Anti oxygen additives quite effective in controlling NOx formation. HC emission and PM emission smoke were reduced with the use of fuel base catalysts/ additives.

GREEN BUILDINGS- PROSPECTS AND POTENTIAL

ABSTRACT
In India Green Buildings have got good results and benefits. The benefits include reduction in power consumption of 20-40% and 30-40% reduction in the consumption of portable water. The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has validated the benefits. IGBC has totally wiped the notion that Green Buildings are costlier. Green Buildings has got the benefits like high productivity of the occupants, safety of occupants and also best operating practices fro day one. Green Buildings can be constructed with an incremental cost of 1-7%. Many Green Buildings have been monitored for the past 5 years on the view of energy savings. The new technologies, various methods and issues faced during the implementation and solving them were discussed.

MACHINING CHARACTERIZATION OF CFRP LAMINATES WITH RESPECT TO DRILLING OPERATION- A REVIEW

ABSTRACT
Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) composite materials have potential applications in various domains. In machining, drilling is essentially required to join different structures. But CFRP drilling poses many problems that decrease the quality of holes. This paper reports an experimental investigation of a full factorial design performed on thin CFRP laminates using Solid carbide drill (Coated and Un coated both) by varying the drilling parameters such as spindle speed and feed rate to determine optimum cutting conditions. The hole quality parameters analyzed include hole diameter, Delamination, Surface roughness, Thrust force and Circularity. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) will carry out for hole quality parameters and their contribution rates will determine. Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology by full factorial Design will use in the multiple objective optimizations (using Mini Tab 16, a software) to find the optimum cutting conditions for defect free drilling.

ABSTRACT
The use of passive energy dissipation has been rapidly growing throughout the world. This technique reduces the structural response subject to wind and earthquakes through mounting dissipative devices into the buildings. The paper describes a technique to find out combined stiffness of model equipped with ADAS damper and its mathematical modelling is carried out. Non-linear time history analysis is also performed on single degree single story frame under el-Centro ground history record. KEYWORDS: Mathematical modeling, time-history, Displacement, drift, special moment resisting frame (SMRF), ADAS (aided stiffness and damping).
